Guide for Barbers & Salons

GoConverso is built with barbershops and salons in mind. This guide walks you through everything you need to go from a new account to a fully operational online presence — complete with booking, walk-in queues, loyalty rewards, and staff management.

When you select the Barber or Hairdresser niche during onboarding, GoConverso automatically pre-configures popular services, working hours, and a website template designed for your industry.

Choosing the right niche

During account creation, select one of these niches:

Your niche determines the default services, website template, and category translations. You can always add, remove, or customize services later.

Setting up your services

Review pre-configured services

After selecting the Barber niche, GoConverso creates these services automatically:

  • Haircut — 30 min, suggested price based on your region
  • Beard Trim — 20 min
  • Hair + Beard Combo — 45 min
  • Hot Towel Shave — 25 min
  • Kids Haircut — 20 min

Navigate to Dashboard > Services to review and customize them.

Customize pricing

Set prices that match your market. GoConverso supports 15+ currencies, so choose the one your clients expect:

  1. Click on any service
  2. Update the Price field
  3. Optionally enable price range for variable-price services (e.g., “Starting at $25”)
  4. Save your changes

Add custom services

Click Add Service to create services specific to your shop:

  • Hair Design / Razor Art — 45 min
  • Scalp Treatment — 30 min
  • Wedding Package — 90 min
  • Loyalty Reward Cut — 30 min (set price to $0 for free loyalty redemptions)

Organize with categories

Group your services into categories for a clean booking experience:

  • Haircuts — Haircut, Kids Haircut, Hair Design
  • Beard — Beard Trim, Hot Towel Shave
  • Combos — Hair + Beard, Wedding Package
  • Treatments — Scalp Treatment, Keratin

Configuring your schedule

Set your working hours from Dashboard > Settings > Working Hours:

  1. Set your weekly schedule — Enable each day and set opening/closing times
  2. Add breaks — Block off lunch breaks or cleaning time
  3. Set slot duration — Match your most common service duration (e.g., 30 minutes)
  4. Configure buffer time — Add 5-10 minutes between appointments for cleanup

Barbershops typically see the highest demand on Fridays and Saturdays. Consider extending your hours on these days or enabling walk-in queue mode.

Walk-in queue (Digital Queue)

The Digital Queue app is one of the most popular features for barbershops. It lets walk-in clients join a virtual queue from their phone instead of waiting in the shop.

Enable the Digital Queue app

  1. Go to Dashboard > Apps
  2. Find Digital Queue and click Install
  3. The app is available on all plans

How it works

  • Clients visit your public page and tap Join Queue
  • They receive a real-time position update
  • When it’s their turn, they get a notification
  • You manage the queue from your dashboard

Your queue is available at:

goconverso.com/your-username/queue

Print a QR code and place it at your shop entrance so walk-in clients can join instantly.

Manage the queue

From your dashboard, you can:

  • See all clients in the queue with their position and wait time
  • Call the next client
  • Remove clients who left
  • Pause the queue during breaks

Loyalty program

Reward your regular clients with a built-in loyalty program. This is one of the most effective retention tools for barbershops.

Enable the Loyalty Program app

  1. Go to Dashboard > Apps
  2. Find Loyalty Program and click Install
  3. Available on Plus plans and above

Configure your rewards

Set up a points-based system:

  • Points per booking — e.g., 1 point per visit
  • Reward threshold — e.g., 10 points = 1 free haircut
  • Expiration — Optionally set points to expire after 6 or 12 months

How clients earn and redeem

  • Clients earn points automatically when they complete a booking
  • Points balance is visible in the client portal
  • When they reach the threshold, they can redeem a reward at their next visit
  • You can also manually award bonus points for referrals or special occasions

Staff management

If you have multiple barbers, the Staff app lets each one manage their own schedule and bookings.

Enable the Staff app

  1. Go to Dashboard > Apps
  2. Find Staff Management and click Install
  3. Available on Plus plans and above

Add your team

For each barber or stylist:

  1. Click Add Staff Member
  2. Enter their name, email, and role
  3. Assign services they can perform
  4. Set their individual working hours

How booking works with staff

When a client books on your public page:

  1. They select a service
  2. They choose a staff member (or select “Any available”)
  3. Available time slots are shown based on that staff member’s schedule
  4. The booking is assigned to the selected barber

Staff dashboard access

Each staff member can log in to view their own appointments, manage their schedule, and see client details — without access to your billing or business settings.

Website template

GoConverso includes website templates specifically designed for barbershops:

  • Classic Barber — Dark theme with bold typography, perfect for traditional shops
  • Modern Salon — Clean, minimal design with large images
  • Phone Repair Dark — An edgy, dark template that also works well for barber shops

Customize your template

From Dashboard > Website Editor:

  1. Hero section — Upload a photo of your shop or team
  2. Services section — Automatically populated from your service list
  3. Gallery — Showcase your best work with before/after photos
  4. Contact section — Add your address, phone, WhatsApp, and social media links
  5. Reviews section — Display client testimonials

Your website is live at goconverso.com/your-username. You can also connect a custom domain like www.yourshop.com.

Best practices for barbershops

  • Enable WhatsApp integration — Most barbershop clients prefer WhatsApp for quick communication
  • Use the gallery section — Before/after photos are the #1 driver of new client conversions
  • Set up email reminders — Automated 24-hour reminders reduce no-shows by up to 40%
  • Offer combo deals — Hair + Beard combos at a slight discount increase average ticket value
  • Print QR codes — Place them at the entrance, on mirrors, and on business cards
  • Collect reviews — Ask satisfied clients to leave a review after their appointment
