Website Builder

The GoConverso Website Builder lets you create a professional, mobile-responsive website without writing a single line of code. Using the drag-and-drop Template Editor, you can assemble your site from a library of pre-designed sections, customize the theme, and publish in minutes.

Your website is live at goconverso.com/{username} and can optionally be connected to a custom domain on Plus plans and above.

The Website Builder is available on all plans. Some sections and variants require Plus or Pro.


Template Editor Overview

The Template Editor is your primary tool for building and customizing your website. It consists of three main areas:

  1. Section Panel (left) — A 380px sidebar where you manage sections, reorder them, and configure settings
  2. Preview Area (center) — A live preview taking approximately 75% of the screen, showing exactly how your site will look
  3. Theme Settings (right) — Access global theme controls for colors, fonts, and spacing

Key Capabilities

  • Drag and drop sections to reorder them
  • Add, remove, and duplicate sections
  • Switch variants for any section (e.g., Classic, Modern, Elegant)
  • Undo/Redo with keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y or Cmd+Z / Cmd+Y)
  • Real-time preview — changes appear instantly in the preview area
  • Mobile preview — toggle between desktop and mobile views
  • Draft/Publish workflow — save drafts without affecting your live site

Within each section, individual variants may also have tier requirements. For example, the Hero section’s Classic variant is free, but the Content Creator variant requires Plus. Locked variants show an upgrade prompt when selected.


Theme Settings

Global theme settings apply across all sections of your website.

Colors

  • Primary color — Used for buttons, links, and accent elements
  • Secondary color — Used for secondary actions and highlights
  • Background color — Page background
  • Text color — Default text color
  • Header background — Navigation bar background

Typography

  • Heading font — Applied to all headings (H1-H6)
  • Body font — Applied to paragraphs and general text
  • Font size scale — Adjust the base font size

Spacing

  • Section padding — Control the vertical space inside each section
  • Content width — Set the maximum content width (contained vs full-width)

Draft/Publish Workflow

The Website Builder uses a draft system so you can make changes without affecting your live site.

Make Your Changes

Edit sections, reorder content, change colors, or switch variants. All changes are saved as a draft automatically.

Preview

Use the live preview to review your changes. Toggle between desktop and mobile views to ensure everything looks correct.

Publish

When you are satisfied, click the Publish button. Your draft replaces the current live version of your website instantly.

Publishing is immediate — there is no staging environment. Make sure to preview your changes thoroughly before publishing. You can always revert by making additional edits and publishing again.

Auto-save

The editor automatically saves your draft as you work. If you close the browser and come back later, your unsaved changes will still be there.

Mobile Responsive Preview

Every section and variant is designed to be fully responsive. The Template Editor includes a device preview toggle:

  • Desktop view — Shows the full-width layout as it appears on laptops and monitors
  • Mobile view — Shows the narrow layout as it appears on smartphones

Sections automatically adapt their layout for smaller screens:

  • Multi-column grids collapse to single columns
  • Navigation menus switch to hamburger menus
  • Images resize proportionally
  • Font sizes adjust for readability

Best Practices

  1. Start with a niche template — Pick the template closest to your business during onboarding, then customize from there.
  2. Keep it focused — 5-7 sections is usually ideal. Too many sections can overwhelm visitors.
  3. Use the Hero section wisely — This is the first thing visitors see. Include a clear headline and a prominent booking button.
  4. Add social proof — Include the Reviews or Trust Badges section to build credibility.
  5. Preview on mobile — Over 60% of visitors will see your site on a phone. Always check the mobile preview.
  6. Publish regularly — Small, frequent updates are better than large infrequent overhauls.
